Initial Set Up
This Coleman portable grill is designed to be easy to set up, easy to take down, and easy to transport. That said, all you have to do is unfold it once you’ve got it out of the box. It comes nearly complete; all you have to do is put on the wheels and attach the handle/regulator. For the price you pay, you wouldn’t want to spend the time to figure out how to set up a grill when you want to spend the time enjoying your food and grilling experience.
Performance
For a portable grill, this Coleman portable grill is easy to use and has great results. The drip pan is a nice convenience. The dual burners make getting the right grilling temperature easy for a novice; however, you can’t grill with the top down, like most grills. The wheels could use some work; they can feel cheap, and you shouldn’t roll it over any rough terrain. Some have experienced issues with this. The grill cooks evenly — there were no hot spots or burned areas on the meat. While the Road Trip LXE performed admirably, we think that the Blackstone Tailgater is a better overall portable gas grill, if weight and space isn’t an issue.
